Aquazzura Woman

Aquazzura , meaning “blue water” in Italian, evokes sun-drenched coastal landscapes, a modern idea of ​​La Dolce Vita straight from the imagination of founder Edgardo Osorio. Born in Colombia, the latter was raised between Miami and London where he studied at the London College of Fashion then at the Central Saint Martins School. However, it was in the beautiful city of Florence that he then decided to settle down and take his first steps in the shoe industry, with prestigious houses such as Salvatore Ferragamo and Roberto Cavalli . At only 25 years old but already ten years of experience, the young designer launched his own brand in 2011: Aquazzura . Instead of offering a new version of the imposing shoes in vogue at the time, Edgardo Osorio wanted to return to an elegance made of simplicity and expert tailoring based on comfort. This last point is also one of the pillars of the manufacture of Aquazzura models since the designer had the idea of ​​launching his brand during a series of weddings and parties which put a strain on the feet of his friends. Thus, to offer women the possibility of going through appointments all day long and dancing until early in the morning without having to change shoes, he entoure with a team of technicians who will develop an innovative construction aimed at distributing the weight of the body throughout the entire model and also equipped with a quilted shape memory yoke promising an easy and light gait.
The essence of Aquazzura is also based on its glamorous, sophisticated and sensual universe which finds its inspiration in photography, the films of Visconti, James Bond and the 1950s and 1960s in Italy. Imbued with positive energy and a sunny look, his creations are all finished with a golden pineapple logo, placed under the sole: a good luck charm and symbol of hospitality according to the designer. The metallic leather mules, the dizzying sandals with bold details and the Deneuve pumps, the label's best-sellers, have captured the attention of celebrities from Julianne Moore to Nicole Kidman, including Oprah Winfrey and Beyoncé.
