There's an element of chance that further adds to the brand Area's appeal. And that's the one that brings the two designers together. One of them, Beckett Fogg, was from Kentucky and studied Architecture at the University in Virginia before starting her career at Calvin Klein. The other, Piotreck Panszcyk, born in Poland and raised in the Netherlands, the former student at the Artez Institute of the Arts (in the Netherlands) began his fashion journey at Chloé. And yet... They first met in the classroom at New York's Parsons School of Design, both studying for a Master's in Fashion Design and Society. With their degrees in hand, they launched the Area brand in 2014 and quickly began to make a name for themselves for their colourful creations (and glittery designs), expressing a fun and ultra-feminine spirit. And that's where chance stuck again. In today's digital world, the chances of being listed on search engines with a brand name generating so many results (a tribute to the iconic ‘80s Manhattan nightclub), are generally slim. And yet... This stroke of luck payed off and so did their hard work. Finalist of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2016, the duo saw their creations appearing on the most prominent celebrities... without having spent a penny on marketing. From Kendall Jenner (a fan from the outset) to Ariana Grande and Michelle Obama, all willingly chose Area designs.
