Carriere Freres beauty
It parfois happens that the destinies of two great houses are linked. This is particularly the case for Cire Trudon and Carrière Frères. If the first is renowned throughout the world for the design of its beeswax candles which earned it the favor of the Versailles court, the second, slightly more confidential, is just as prestigious. Founded in 1884 by the Carrière brothers, the Carrière Frères brand produces its candles in the same factory as those of Cire Trudon , of which elle is the sister company.
At a time when electricity was beginning to make its appearance, the Carrière brothers had a brilliant idea: to make the candle a decorative accessory as much as a useful object and, above all, to take it beyond its clerical role. Taking up the know-how of the master wax makers, the duo modernized the techniques and offered new versions which earned them the Gold Medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889.
Even today, Carrière Frères pays particular attention to every detail. Perfumes designed in the Grasse region, wicks positioned by hand to guarantee perfect centering, lacquered glass and sharp finishes... everything is done to offer an exceptional product... which does not forget to be eco-conscious. Working in agreement with the Robertet company, specializing in natural ingredients, Carrière Frères also makes a point of purchasing its raw materials at ethical prices as well as supporting agricultural cooperatives or sustainable development programs. Likewise, the packaging and containers from the house are carefully sorted. The idea: reduce the environmental footprint.
Practices that the wax maker also applies to its other products. From its botanical pucks (wax pucks inlaid with flowers or fruits, to hang on door handles or slide into drawers to its diffusers and vaporizers), la manufacture makes a point of offering accessories that are both beautiful and eco-friendly.
