Some destinies seem written. This is particularly the case of Frédéric Malle. Nephew of filmmaker Louis Malle and grandson of Serge Heftler-Louiche, founder of Christian Dior perfumes, he grew up in Paris in a world steeped in culture. His mother, elle artistic director of Christian Dior perfumes at one time, also helped to pass on to him the taste for fragrances.
At the age of 20, he flew to the United States, where he took art history courses at New York University. Six years later, in 1988, he joined the Roure Bertrand Dupont house, where he worked alongside the most contemporary perfumers of the time. In 1994, he was a consultant for numerous brands. From Christian Lacroix to Chaumet via Hermès , he takes on the role of artistic and marketing director and makes the connection between noses and houses. A function that he carries out without problem due to his vast knowledge of the subject. From creation to composition, including packaging and marketing, Frédéric Malle masters all stages of perfume manufacturing. A period that prepared him for his next adventure, the one that would make him known to the general public: Les Éditions de Parfums.
Tired of the system of mass distribution of perfumes and its products designed to appeal to the greatest number of people, he founded his company in 2000, with the aim of putting personalization back at the heart of the business.
