Ester Manas woman
At a time when fashion is being called upon to be more inclusive, many emerging designers are standing out as the most promising players thanks to innovative and promising concepts. Ester Manas is one of them. A graduate of the prestigious La Cambre fashion school and spotted at the Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival in 2018 with her Big Again collection (the pieces of which were available in sizes ranging from 34 to 50), the young designer is shaking up the codes. Adieu measurements and traditional size guides: elle imagines her clothes to be intelligent, capable of adapting to all body types. Helped in this endeavor by her lifelong accomplice, Balthazar Delepierre, elle claims a one size fits all thanks to clever tightening systems, lacing sets and specific cuts. Each piece of the brand is designed to suit all silhouettes: the skirts have several buttons sewn at the waist, the pleats and drapes of the dresses allow them to be adjusted perfectly, as for the tops, they are made from stretch fabrics to suit as many people as possible. A resolutely inclusive fashion which also has the advantage of being sustainable thanks to two weighty arguments. First of all, the modularity of the garment, which allows women to porter it throughout their lives, as their body changes. Then, the concept of one size fits all which implies less waste during the production process. Committed to both people and the Earth, the Ester Manas brand has its entire collection produced by Brussels social workers as part of a socio-professional integration project and works with woolens made from recycled waste in a factory in Tarn. A young guard definitely on all fronts.
