Fête Impériale
Fascinated by the free Paris of the 19th century and the cultural richness of the Second Empire, Laura Gauthier Petit founded Fête Impériale in 2015. After working in web marketing and digital strategy between Paris and London, the designer devoted herself to her label, which elle named in a nod to the celebrations organized by Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie. A women's fashion brand that revisits the aesthetics of the Belle Époque with references to the decadence of the 1980s. When the abundance and splendor of the past meets the casualness of the punk movement.
« Inspiration can be found at any moment... a memory, an exhibition, a trip, a person... the common thread is often the creation of fantasized universes » confides Laura Gauthier Petit. Elle is also inspired by independent women around her who, despite a difficult start in life, succeed without anyone's help, like her grandmother. The brand’s signature elements? Ethical materials, Made in France or even Made in Paris, blurred silhouettes and opulent patterns. Indeed at Fête Impériale , the cuts are fluid, androgynous, parfois oversized, with the idea of protective clothing as a vector of confidence for everyday life. All materials are carefully selected, taking inspiration from 19th century furnishing fabrics.th century: duchess satin, French silk, cotton velvet and silk.
Unique, the prints used for each collection have been thought out, created and designed by an artist in keeping with the esprit of the Fête Impériale . Becoming “picture pieces”, the skirts, blouses and jumpsuits are adorned with bird cages, waterfalls and other hanging gardens which immerse us in an enchanted universe.
