It's well known that travel builds youth. But they are also an opportunity to reinvent your future, as Clarisse de Lacharrière and Aymeric Lacape prove. During their honeymoon off the coast of the Indonesian archipelago, the newlyweds had the idea of ​​launching a brand of men's swimwear. In 2014, Gili's (named after the paradise islands that inspired them) was born. Trained at ESCÀ and IFM (Paris) in marketing and fashion and design, Clarisse de Lacharrière began her career at Louis Vuitton , where elle held the position of assistant to the head of the women's ready-to- porter collection. An experience which will be followed by a stint at APC as accessories product manager. For his part, Aymeric Lacape trained in a business school before founding his own production company. Together, the duo approached a Portuguese factory, located not far from Porto, where they could create their swimsuits. The key motif? Azulejos, cement tiles emblematic of Portugal which appear on their rooms for colorful and original finishes. Young and perfectionist, the brand has only two models, also named after Pacific islands. Thus, the Trawagan is distinguished by its elastic waistband while the AirMeno, Java or Octavie (a nod to their daughter's first name) or having fun on the beach protected by an anti-UV top, always incorporating the shimmering colors of the brand's favorite azujelos.
