Bronze, gilded brass, rock crystal, wood, amber, shells, stones... since its founding in the 1950s, the Goossens house has worked with almost all materials and transformed them into exceptional jewelry. Trained by the goldsmith Bauer, Robert Goossens put his talent at the service of the biggest names in couture. Balenciaga , Grès, Rochas and even Yves Saint Laurent are rushing to ask him to create jewelry for their collections. Because far from inventing a simple aesthetic, Robert Goossens developed a new way of working during his meetings with Coco Chanel : while the jewelry on the shows were initially reproductions of Haute Couture pieces, under the demanding eye of the designer, the goldsmith lets his creativity speak. And for the first time, thanks to the duo, the sets are created at the same time as the ready-to- porter collection, in line with the clothes.
At the end of the 1970s, Patrick Goossens , son of the founder, took over. Under his leadership, the house continues to work for the greatest while developing its own creations in its Pantin workshop, as elle has always done. Because the strength of the brand also lies in its autonomy. Equipped with a foundry, the premises on the outskirts of Paris allow artisans to work metals on site, at any time.
In 2005, the house was bought by Paraffection, the subsidiary bringing together the Art Houses of the Chanel Group.
