Sometimes all you have to do is dress the right celebrity at the right time, and before you know it success comes knocking at your door -- the designer behind Gunther might know a thing or two about it. Launched in 2018 by Naomi Gunther, a young Parisian freshly-graduated from the Parsons School of Design, and Gabin Ducourant, himself just out of France's Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, the line took off within 6 months when rapper Offset decided to sport one of its pieces to Men's Fashion Week in January 2019. Within minutes, the images were going viral on social media and specialized press outlets, transforming the future of this independent Parisian brand overnight. Initially intended for men, Gunther's creations are perfect for mixed wardrobes, with their refined cuts and winks to urban references or major figures in the industry like Raf Simons, Martin Margiela, or Virgil Abloh. For its first collection, the brand even collaborated with hip-hop dancer Diablo, creating a video in which freedom of movement is the name of the game. Eminently modern, the label is committed to ethical production and sustainable development. It favors organic, natural, and/or recycled raw materials and short-circuit methods, meaning all pieces are fabricated locally.
