Founded in 2015, Hindbag is a start-up initiated by Pierre Monnier and Claude Julien. Both students at the Toulouse Business School, they embarked on self-entrepreneurship following a tutored project during their final year of higher education. Six years ago, Pierre Monnier went to India for the first time and discovered the textile branch of the NGO SSMI: Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute, located in Delhi. This association works for the emancipation of Indian women and the education of children. With Sunita, the director of the NGO and Shikha, the workshop's production manager, the young Frenchman is developing a collaborative economy giving birth to Hindbag. Ethical and supportive, the brand entrusts its production to Indian seamstresses whose work is paid at its fair value. More than fifty women participating in the project receive on average a salary three times higher than the Indian minimum wage. When purchasing a Hindbag product, 40% of the amount is donated directly to the NGO SSMI. Specializing in textile l'accessoire , the brand offers organic cotton bags, cases and pouches, entirely handmade and available in several colors and prints.
