To say that Banu Bora Mumcu is a movie buff would be an understatement. Nearly ten years before co-founding the brand In the Mood for Love with interior designer Rezzan Benardete, the fashion designer had already shared her love of cinema. In 2007, elle launched the multi-brand store Midnight Express (for which elle designed an exclusive line) with her husband, Tayfun Mumcu. In 2016, Banu Bora Mumcu and Rezzan Benardete paid homage to Wong Kar-Wai's feature film. The DNA of this brand with a poetic name? “ A clash between boudoir dressing and haute fashion », Reports the latter. Understand: the meeting of the most gant loungewear and the most precious materials. A motto that translates in real life into glamour, sequin and femininity, a trio as sparkling as it is indomitable which gives birth to exceptional pieces such as the set Sophia Loren. Born in Istanbul, Banu Bora Mumcu studied in Turkey but also at Jasper Conran in London before launching her eponymous brand in 2007. For her part, Rezzan Benardete is a renowned interior designer, notably at the origin of RB Living, a decoration agency which works with both professionals and individuals. Together, the two designers wanted to offer a range of clothing with a festive look, designed for every day but with an gant and offbeat twist. Deal.
