A pioneer in niche perfumery, Jean Laporte founded l'Artisan Parfumeur in 1976 in Paris. A chemical engineer by training, he discovered his vocation when one of his friends contacted him to ask him to create a banana perfume to match his costume for the Folies Bergères ball! A boon for this creative who continues in this direction by creating fragrances around grapefruit and vanilla. He then opened his first store and equipped it with a laboratory in which he devoted himself to the composition of his original scents and formulas made from natural raw materials. A plant collector, he is inspired by the beauty of nature to create unexpected and artisanal alliances giving birth to perfumes unlike any other. Created in 1978, Mûre et Musc, which earned L'Artisan Parfumeur its entry into the pantheon of perfumery, still remains the brand's undeniable bestseller today. Faced with its international success, Jean Laporte entoure itself with the greatest talents to expand its range. The latter, perfectly mastering the harmony and structure of each note as well as their subtle evolution on the skin, offer new fragrances which can be defined by 4 categories: fresh, floral, oriental and woody. Opulent rose, jasmine and tuberose permeate these juices in the same way as celery, bay leaf or geranium which underline the bold character of the label.
