Part winter sport, part cosmonaut, the Moon Boot has established itself as an iconic shoe around the world. During Neil Armstrong's first step on the Moon in July 1969, Giancarlo Zanatta was in front of his television, in the town of Montebelluna in northern Italy, like millions of curious people to experience this historic moment live. Intrigued more by the pairs of shoes that brushed against the lunar soil than by the act itself, this visionary launched his outdoor shoe brand a few months later: Moon Boot (“Moon Boot” in French). From the 1970s until the 1980s, in his company Calzaturificio Tecnica, the brand's après-skis instantly appealed to the public. Comfortable, oversized and offbeat, fashion addicts are snapping up the Moon Boot, first for the high mountains, then for city looks. Indeed, the pair, with crepe soles, made of padded nylon and lacing finish, has it all: water resistant, ultra light and protection against the cold, the brand is also inspired by vintage fashion in its design to speak to as many people as possible, even to the celebrities who wear them without hesitation: from singers Rihanna and Dua Lipa to model Gigi Hadid. In 2000, Moon Boot appeared in the exhibition at the Louvre Museum in Paris among the 100 symbols of 20th century design. Beyond the world of skiing, the brand has also stood out on the catwalks of major fashion houses, from Dior to Dolce & Gabbana , including Chloé and Kim Shui... And among the collaborations, the brand French company Bonpoint has added its model by enhancing the Liberty and Palm Angels print in an exclusive capsule for children. The Moon Boot is universal. The brand also has its iconic ones, which have endured over time since the 1970s: the Icon model, the first of the brand which has become timeless, then following the Icon Low Black and Cream, the Icon with glitter , the Icon Red and finally the Mule model, the low-rise pair for it-girls.
