By turns engaging, outrageous, delicate... fashion has dozens of faces. But few houses can boast of mastering irreverence as well as the Moschino label. Founded by Franco Moschino in 1983, the label has always stood out for its audacity and non-conformism. Nicknamed the “bad boy of Italian fashion”, the Italian designer twisted the codes of couture with irony, drawing inspiration from surrealism and Pop art to create his clothes. Witty slogans, XXL logos and humorous winks quickly became his trademark. From his jacket belted with the words “Waist of money” to his white shirt with sleeves tied at the back and on which it was written “For fashion victims only”, the designer knew how to press right where it hurts, revealing himself more and more more committed to an industry whose absurd failings he was accustomed to highlighting. An aesthetic and a tone that he cultiv until his death in 1994. Following his death, Rossella Jardini, his former assistant, took the reins of the house until 2013, when elle handed over the reins. to Jeremy Scott. A rebellious designer from Missouri, he is no stranger to this crazy and daring fashion, which he has maintained for more than twenty years through his eponymous brand. Founded in 1997, the latter regularly stands out with its collections paying homage to pop culture which have notably seen the Powerpuffs and Sponge Bob. Faithful to the founding couturier's offbeat humor and propensity for provocation, Jeremy Scott graduated from the prestigious Pratt Institute in New York. Also renowned for his unexpected and original collaborations with the adidas brand, he is known to the general public for his exuberant look and his devastating second degree. For Moschino , he regularly revisits the most catchy mottos and multiplies cultural references in order to offer fashion that is at once playful, exuberant, cheerful and offbeat. After 10 years at the head of the Italian label, Jérémy Scott announced his departure in January 2023. In November of the same year, barely ten days after taking over the reins of artistic direction, the new DA of the Italian fashion brand Davide Renne dies suddenly of a heart problem at just 46 years old. The Tuscan-born designer, who had twenty years of experience designing women's collections at Gucci , also began supervising the women's and men's collections and accessories on November 1.
