As its name suggests, the Organic Basics brand offers eco-friendly basics. From organic cotton panties to Tencel boxers to recycled nylon t-shirts, the Danish brand intends to revolutionize the world of green underwear, one essential at a time. Founded in 2015 by four young men including Christoffer Immanuel and Mads Fibiger Rasmussen, tired of buying underwear and throwing it away a few months later, Organic Basics was first presented as an initiative on Kickstarter. Funded in less than 48 hours, the company began by offering the male models most popular with its followers in order to be sure to fill a need and not produce pieces that would gather dust in warehouses. Because Organic Basics creations meet one main command: they are intended to last as long as possible. Following Dame Vivienne Westwood 's mantra ("Buy less, choose well and make it last"), they are made from quality ecological materials, designed to withstand to the wear and tear of time as well as to different washing cycles. Produced in European factories meeting strict health and social conditions, they also aim to rehabilitate green fashion, making it cool again. Faced with its success, the brand is now extending its activities to women. White, black, gray, beige, pale pink... the palette of Organic Basics underwear is simple, designed to blend into any wardrobe. And if the aesthetic is definitely classic, the research and development aspect of the brand is well anchored in the reality of the 21st century. For each product, the brand offers to calculate its impact on the environment and understand how much its green manufacturing saved in CO2 or how many liters of water could be saved. Another reference from the brand, SilverTech, a fabric enriched with metal which absorbs odors and kills bacteria. Result: fewer washes and a preserved environment.
