The shavette, also called a barber's razor, allows a very precise and efficient shave. Very hygienic because its blade is changed regularly.
This razor model uses double-edged safety blades which must be broken in half before use, to do so in their packaging. Replacing the blade is done by pushing the movable part forward so that elle opens downwards, then sliding the blade against the stops and finally closing while holding on the flat of the blade. Do not hold by the cutting edge.
It is better to use a safety blade that you have broken in two yourself rather than a pre-cut blade. Breaking a blade yourself leaves a roughness which creates a spring effect and allows the blade to hold better in the shavette.
