In the middle of all these beau people, we now have to reckon with another actor, straight from Belgium, Rombaut . Founded in 2013 by Mats Rombaut , the shoe brand aims to be both cool and green. A former student in economics then in fashion, the man who began with internships in a press office before joining the teams of Lanvin then Damir Doma awakened to vegetarianism at the age of 21. Little by little, he adheres more and more to the vegan ideology and the desire to create leather and fur accessories pleases him less and less. The solution to combine your love of fashion and save the planet? Founding your own label. His choice falls on footwear, an area where the use of skins is extremely widespread and which he intends to revolutionize. Ultra-committed, he begins by developing the greenest models possible, with the aim of producing biodegradable shoes. A dream that he still has today but that he abandoned at the time due to the results obtained; too arty, not durable enough, his first pairs didn't quite suit him. He then turns to other materials, just as eco-friendly but with more advanced finishes: tree or coconut bark, Pinatex (an eco-leather made from pineapple)... anything goes. And it works ! Its unisex shoes (each model is available from 36 to 46) are gradually establishing themselves in all markets, conquering the hearts of customers touched by the cause they defend or simply by their style.
