When George Salomon founded his ski edge brand in 1947, he had no idea that more than seventy years later, elle would become one of the biggest names in streetwear. Specializing in sports shoes, skiing and technical clothing, the brand has established itself since 2014 in an equally promising niche, that of fashion la sneaker . And it’s The Broken Arm store that we owe this turnaround. At the time, the concept store decided to distribute the Speedcross, a model that had already existed for a dozen years at Salomon . At the same time, the brand imagined an exclusive version for the Parisian store and launched the Black Edition collection, a reissue of certain S/Lab models (dedicated to performance running) in a completely black version. Success was achieved and fashion les créateurs began to see the potential of the Annecy label. This is when Boris Bidjan Saberi enters the scene. The German designer based in Barcelona has the idea of wearing Salomon shoes for his models for his next fashion show. The brand accepted and established its first partnership with a fashion designer. Since then, the brand has become a regular on the catwalks. Appearing on the feet of models during several fashion shows, elle has also become a reference in streetwear. Lightweight and now available in a multitude of colors and materials, the brand's running shoes appeal to those who have to cover miles every day but still want to take care of their style. And Salomon is not just opening up to new markets. Aware of the negative impact of fashion on the planet, the brand has been striving for several years to preserve the environment as much as possible. The idea? Raise customer awareness about ecology while developing “cleaner” products. Thus, in its R&D center in Annecy, Salomon recently unveiled a running sneaker that can be recycled into a ski boot. The circle is complete.
